Visual Art

My piece is called "The girl in the coffee shop". It was inspired by the artist Edward Hopper. His paintings are all mainly first person point of view from viewing from afar. Pretty much capturing a moment in their point of view. I made this piece as someone viewing this girl in a coffee shop by herself staring out the window. I find these moments that people just stare off is when they're deep in thought and seem to be relaxed. A coffee shop is also a good place to collect thoughts. I'm a fan of shading and i know that most of Hopper's works are mainly influenced by the colors he would use to create the different lights in the paintings. So i used shading to give the picture more dimension, and you can't really tell but near the light i tried to shade to show the light beam from the light bulb.
